Seoul MICE Alliance Successfully Hosts SITE INSPECTION Centered on Magok, Discovering New Seoul MICE Venues Along the Waterway

The Seoul Tourism Organization (President and CEO, Ki Yon Kil) announced that it successfully hosted the ‘2025 Seoul MICE Alliance Site Inspection’ across various locations in Seoul on Monday, June 16. The event was organized to promote the use of new MICE infrastructure in Seoul and strengthen networking among member organizations.

A total of 58 participants from 42 member companies of the Seoul MICE Alliance (SMA) took part in the program, which included:

▲ Site inspections of newly added venues and hotels

▲ A networking session and meeting for SMA members

▲ A hands-on experience riding the eco-friendly ‘Hangang Bus’

Notably, 16 new member companies were introduced for the first time during this event.

The tour began at COEX Magok, which opened in late November of last year. Participants explored state-of-the-art exhibition and meeting spaces, followed by a visit to the banquet halls and guest rooms of the Mercure Ambassador Seoul Magok, a newly joined hotel member located in the same building. COEX Magok, a core facility in the southwestern MICE clusterone of Seoul's three major MICE zonesgarnered strong interest and positive feedback from participating members.

The itinerary continued with a trial ride on the eco-friendly Hangang Bus, a waterway-based public transport system connecting Magok Pier to Apgujeong Pier. Through this unique experience, participants reaffirmed their commitment to ESG values while exploring the potential of the Hangang Bus as both an innovative mobility solution and a new tourism asset.

To conclude the event, the group visited two of Seoul’s newly recognized unique venues: The River and Plenty Convention. These distinctive locations showcased the diversity and creative potential of Seoul’s MICE venues, offering participants fresh inspiration for future events.

Youngmi Lee, Director of the MICE 2 Team at the Seoul Tourism Organization, stated, “The tourism and MICE industries are undergoing rapid changes, with the diversification of inbound markets and the temporary visa-free entry for Chinese group travelers. In response, the Seoul Tourism Organization will continue to identify and promote new MICE venues and strengthen business collaboration among SMA members to solidify Seoul’s position as a premier global MICE destination.”
